About the KSM Annual Fall Recital
KSM Fall Recital
🎶 It’s Recital Time!
We’re so excited to celebrate our KSM students at our Fall Recital! This is a chance for students to share what they’ve been learning, gain valuable performance experience, and celebrate their hard work with their teachers, friends, and family.
And yes… there will be doughnuts. 🍩🍩🍩
We’ll also be taking video throughout the event so we can capture some of these special moments!

Date: September 22, 2026
Location: Cookeville Performing Arts Center
Address: 10 East Broad Street
GREEN GROUP
5:00–6:30 PM
Teachers: Ms. Paige, Ms. Carrie & Ms. Soñée
ORANGE GROUP
7:00–8:30 PM
Teachers: Ms. Kat, Mr. Clay & Mr. Caleb
Each recital is approximately 90 minutes long.
⏰ Arrival Times
GREEN GROUP: Please arrive by 4:15
ORANGE GROUP: Please arrive by 6:15
Please plan to arrive on time so students have plenty of time to get settled before the recital begins.
🎟️ Registration
Recital Fee: $35 per student
Registration Deadline: September 8
Friends and family are FREE! We encourage students to invite the people who want to cheer them on.
Registration & Refund Policy
Recital fees are non-refundable. Once registration is submitted, the recital fee is considered committed and cannot be refunded, including in the event of a cancellation or no-show.
If you miss the registration deadline, please reach out to Clay (931.706.9496) to ask about late registration options. Late registration cannot be guaranteed, as it depends on the recital schedule and available space.
🎭 What Happens During the Recital?
Students will be called up to the stage in groups to sit on the stage.
Students will then perform one at a time.
After performing, students will return to sit with their family in the audience.
Students are welcome to sit backstage with the other performers or with their family in the audience before their group is called as long as they can be quiet and attentive.
Our goal is to keep things organized while making the experience as relaxed and enjoyable as possible for everyone!
👗 What Should I Wear?
Our goal is for students to look recital-ready while also feeling comfortable and confident on stage. Think: semi-formal.
🎒 What Should I Bring?
Students Should Bring:
Their instrument, if applicable
Any necessary accessories
Their music
Water
Anything specifically requested by their teacher
Students Don’t Need to Bring Bring:
Keyboards or pianos
Drums
Music stands
Students do not need to memorize their performances. Music may be used during the performance unless your teacher has given you different instructions.
🎵 Backing Tracks
If your performance uses a backing track, you will be responsible for bringing a jump drive of your recording for the sound engineer.
📸 Photos & Video
We’ll be taking photos and video throughout the recital!
These may be used by Kat Starr Music for things like social media, our website, and future promotional materials.
🍩 DOUGHNUTS!
Because no KSM recital is complete without them. 😉
Doughnuts and refreshments for all will be available after both recitals.
👏 Audience Etiquette
We want every student to feel supported and celebrated!
Please help us by:
Keeping conversations quiet while students are performing
Please help young children stay quietly engaged during performances, and feel free to step out with them if they need a break
Silencing phones and other devices
Avoiding walking around during performances whenever possible
Saving flash photography for times when it is permitted
Holding applause until the performer has finished
Cheering enthusiastically for each student!
🅿️ Parking
There is some street parking in front of the CPAC. There is also a public parking area behind the CPAC, next to Dogwood Park!
📍 When You Arrive
Students will have an opportunity to unpack, tune, warm up, etc as appropriate for their instrument.
Please take all instruments behind the stage, and leave cases there.
Pianists, go to the piano to warm up on the keyboard we provide. Every piano is different, so get your fingers on it before you perform!
Vocalists and instrumentalists, feel free to warm up
