Violin Recommendations
Violins come in different sizes. Be sure to order the correct size for your student!
Size chart based on age:
5-7 years old - 1/4 size
8-9 years old - 1/2 size
10-11 years old - 3/4 size
12 old and up - 4/4 size
Students will need:
Violin kit - violin, bow, case, rosin.
Rent a violin and have it shipped to your door with Baroque Violin Shop, OR
Purchase a violin with the help of an experienced rep with Sweet Water.
Zaret Violin Sponge - to fit the violin to the shoulder.
Stringvision Bow Grip - to aid in loosely holding the bow.
Music stand - so there’s no slouching while playing!
Optional:
String Swing Violin Wall Hanger - so your violin is always in easy reach for practice!
Center-Sitting Chin Rest - be sure to order the correct size for your instrument (1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 4/4). We recommend chin rests without a center hump.
